Hi, I’m Zaina Khan, 16, from Leeds, and I’m running to be your Member of Youth Parliament.
I’m passionate, determined and full of ideas. ADHD is part of who I am – it’s helped me think creatively and see the world differently.
Too many decisions are made about young people without asking us. I want to change that. I’ll campaign for better mental health support, fair opportunities for all and for every young person to feel safe, included and heard, whatever their background.
I’ve represented young people through Leeds Youth Council and led projects in school that brought people together. I’m proud of my South Asian roots and I love connecting across cultures.
Let’s make sure young people have a real say in the future. Vote Zaina Khan, for a voice that speaks up for all of us.
I enjoy boxing: staying fit and learning self‑defence make me feel strong and confident.
I love cooking & baking: experimenting in the kitchen and sharing homemade treats with friends and family.
I’m adventurous: whether it’s camping, long walks or exploring new places, I enjoy being out in nature.
Favourite artists: I listen to a lot of Billie Eilish and Laufey – their music inspires me.
I can play the piano: music is a big part of my life, and playing helps me relax and express myself.
Poverty limits opportunities for millions of young people across the UK – affecting education, activities, travel and mental health. My manifesto focuses on tackling this issue so that no child’s future is held back by their background. These are the steps I’ll campaign for:
